The Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat is a rear-facing infant car seat, with True Enhanced Side Impact Protection, that fits children from 4 to 30 pounds, up to 32 inches. It is the only current model Britax infant car seat. Each Britax Chaperone includes an easy to install Chaperone Car Seat Base with Latch Connector Storage. In addition, the Britax Chaperone Car Seat is compatible with the Britax Chaperone Stroller and other major stroller brands, when used with included adapter strap, making transferring from the car to the stroller quick and easy.

Safety features on the Britax Chaperone helped the Chaperone become an iParenting Media Award Winner. Safety features include a five point harness that makes contact with the strongest parts of the body; true side protection that distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion, contains the head and body and keeps the head, neck and spine aligned to limit injury; built-in-lock-offs that secure the vehicle seat belt so the child's seat does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path and an energy absorbing foam liner (eps) that absorbs and distributes crash forces.
